Is this for real?

I just finished reading some of this blog, Belle De Jour, a blog purportedly written by a London call girl. Does anyone know if this is for real? Apparently it isn't being written anymore, because she sold the blog as a book to some publisher, due out (it says) last month. I've heard of this for a while, and wanted to read it for myself. It doesn't ring true to me, but what do I know? So does anyone out there know the scoop?

Having read through her site -- I'm a fellow sex blogger -- she might be an actual callgirl, but the way she's writing, from the very beginning she had an eye on getting published.

I only read it a few times..to be honest I don't know what all the fuss is about...you read far worse in tame women's mags...

A publishing deal now..?

Ummm...I might just invent an alter ego....hehe...

Any suggestions?

There are a few such blog around; I recall one that I used to run across a lot, written by a call girl in NYC.

I don't think there's any reason to be skeptical about them -- hookers are just as likely to blog as anyone else. That said, just like anyone else, it's possible that some are fabricated. You believe what you want to believe.

I will say that a lot such sex blogs tend to be haphazard affairs: Infrequently updated and tend to disappear abruptly (thus fueling the idea that they're fake). But again, I guess you could say that about any kind of blog...

The whole things surrounding Belle du Jour is true, and it's been a whole saga. She even got raised in the Guardian too, if I believe.
